How Korean skincare is altering the skincare game.
We’ve all seen the media content about achieving ‘glass’ skin. Recently there’s been an emergence of Korean skincare products on the market that help consumers achieve the beautiful soft skin that everyone is currently after. Many brands like Medicube, Illiyoon, Aestura, and Etude have penetrated the market and taking center stage in the trend of silky glass skin.
Recently, I received a PR package from Medicube, a Korean skincare company and was able to try a ton of their products. I can attest to the fact that Korean skincare can work wonders on the skin. As someone who is looking to reduce fine lines and accomplish having soft skin- these products have been game changing and have me putting off a face of Botox. Korean skincare often has collagen as a primary ingredient. Collagen’s properties of skin hydration, wrinkle reduction, and improved skin elasticity have been compared to being a supplement for facial Botox.
This jelly mask that feels like applying a cool sheet of jello to your face is full of sodium NDA, niacinamide, and hydrolyzed collagen to create an at home spa experience that will firm up your face. Sodium NDA can help with facial firming and prevent the loss of water from the skin. There are endless skin benefits of niacinamide including alleviating redness, reducing inflammation, addition of moisture to the skin, and evening skin tone. 15 minutes of your day can result in glorious results!
Obviously this product is an immediate essential because it is PINK! This serum is light and gentle on the skin resulting in improved elasticity. Rose is an included ingredient. This beautiful pink serum helps to target and reduce dark spots, tighten and strengthen the skin to create a glass look, and help alleviate irritated skin. I use this product in my skincare routine before bed!
Full of lactic acid and panthenol, these circular pads have been my favorite part of starting and ending my day. For a fresh cleanse at the beginning of my skincare routine, I swipe one of these over my face to remove makeup, grind, and buildup from the day. Lactic acid helps increase cell turnover, brighten and moisturize your skin, and wrinkle reduction. Panthenol smooths and hydrates the skin.
This “shot” of wellness is recommended for those with acne prone skin. This product is the closest in the line of products I received to receiving Botox facial treatment. This unique product utilizes microneedling, which inserts exosomes deep into the skin for intensive treatment. Exosomes contain bioactive molecules that help aid in skin regeneration, hydration, inflammation, and aging. One of the features of this product is that users may experience tingling, redness, itching, or heat sensation which is a natural reaction to the product.
Collagen Niacinamide Jelly Cream
This product is a dream! Pink jelly cream that feels light and buoyant on skin and feels like touching refreshing slime. The benefits of this cream are hydrating, plumping, and making skin glow. Ingredients include collagen, soluble collagen, and hydrolyzed collagen. Hydrolyzed collagen is able to penetrate skin faster and go deeper into the skin for maximum hydration and refinement. This cream is stunning and comes with a fun applicator!
Again with the amazing benefits of collagen comparable to Botox. This thin and light overnight mask holds skin together resulting in greater refinement and less fine lines. Ingredients include collagen extract to tighten and moisturize the skin, niacinamide, and ceramide NP. Ceramide NP aids in hydration, aging, and skin cell health. Who doesn’t love a peel off mask?
Medicube offers an outstanding line of Korean skincare. While searching their website, I found a whole list of other products I want to order! These include Age-R Booster-H, Deep Reviving Bakuchiol Retinol Serum, and the Collagen Glow Booster Milk Serum.
Although skincare trends come and go like the tide, I feel like the Korean glass skincare trend will continue into 2025. I know I have found some products that won’t be leaving my skincare lineup for a long time!
