Music gets me through everything. Seriously, silence is truly deafening. I love my music during my long commutes to Amherst, while I take a shower, during small tasks like cleaning or unpacking (feels like my life lately) or while working out. In honor of Taylor Swift’s August, I’ve decided to compile a playlist of my favorite songs this month!
- August by Taylor Swift
Obviously an automatic pick and the inspiration for this playlist. Folklore is the essential end of July-early September album for me. Are you August or are you Cardigan? It’s okay if you’re not either, some of us are just Inez.
- Something In The Orange by Zach Bryan
I’ve been hearing all about Zach Bryan lately, so I decided to listen to his top songs and this one really stuck with me. I think it’s just a peaceful and calm song that is very beautifully written.
- American Love by Jake Owen
I literally don’t know how I just discovered this song. Jake Owen is my favorite country artist and I love American Country Love Song. This song is from the same album and it’s even better!
- Glory Days by Bruce Springsteen
Cannot. Simply cannot wait to see Bruce this upcoming March! Had to include this classic. It gives me the ultimate feeling of watching a summer baseball game vibes.
- Rosalita (Come Out Tonight) by Bruce Springsteen
- The Good Stuff by Kenny Chesney
- Nothing On But The Radio by Gary Allan
- Forever and Ever, Amen by Randy Travis
The cutest song ever. This song just reminds me of my family and family gatherings. I feel like I’ve been hearing this song my entire life and hope to listen to it every summer for the rest of my life.
- You Got A Small Town by Dalton Dover
- Volcano by Jimmy Buffet
Another ultimate summer vibe. Put on Margaritaville radio by Jimmy Buffet, set out a lawn chair, and soak up the sun.
- Flower Shops by Ernest and Morgan Wallen
Just one of my favorites this summer! It was on the radio a lot during our trip to South Carolina.
- Mango Tree by Zac Brown Band
Of course, I had to include some Zac Brown Band. I discovered this song in June and I got my whole family hooked on it. It’s like smooth jazz (dinner music… if you know, you know) but still a country song. Jack got me obsessed with mango this summer and while I was looking through music I found this song and actually ended up loving it.
- Kiss You In The Morning by Michael Ray
A short and very sweet end of summer playlist. Mostly country with a little bit of other music mixed in! I hope you’re all having an amazing summer and even better August. Be careful because it will slip away into a moment in time…
