How are we already in the last week of June? Taylor Swift wasn’t wrong when she said August slipped away like a bottle of wine- I feel like the summer is rapidly passing by! Soon enough I’ll be ordering pumpkin cream cold brews from Starbucks… Just kidding!
On Monday morning after the gym, I visited my cousin and her three daughters so she could wax my eyebrows and I could paint their nails. Sweetest girls- I love seeing family as much as possible while I am home since my summer is cut short. Afterwards, I started on another dorm project- painting shells I’ve collected from the cape so far and then adding glitter of course. I plan on using these as a decoration around my coffee station. After my game, Bella and I tried Tatte in Boston (we play our college league games at Boston College). My cousin, Rachel, has been recommending this place forever! I loved my vanilla iced coffee with almond milk. Brooke, Bryn, and I had a sunset photo shoot.
Tuesday was the longest day of the year!! Jack and I tried to catch the sunset, but it was too cloudy. In addition to the longest day of the year, Tuesday was also National Wear Your Lilly Day.
I returned to the Cape on Wednesday for an intern meeting and another lesson. Prior to the meeting, I went to a local Barnstable thrift store where I found golf clubs, but didn’t make any purchases. After the lesson, I went for a run around the marsh. Scenic runs always make the run itself way better!
On Thursday, I spent the day in Orleans, truly the best place on Earth! Starting with a trip to my favorite Cape thrift store- Local Colour Retail Boutique! I found a wicked cute Lilly Pulitzer strapless dress that I plan on wearing with gold heels when I am on my family vacation, Pink yoga pants (I love wearing yoga pants at school), and rose gold Jessica Simpson sunglasses. They have become my new go to sunglasses. I spent the rest of the day laying out and walking on the beach. I treated myself to a lobster roll from The Knack and ended my day listening to George Strait while watching the sunset. George Strait has been my country music artist of the week!
Friday, Jack and I went golfing. Totally kidding- Jack golfed and I wore my white Tommy Bahama golf skirt with my hot pink LuluLemon Align dupe tank with my cheetah print high top platform Converse. The most important part of golf for me is the outfit. Unlike me, Jack is very talented in the kitchen and made me an amazing homemade chicken parm. I love love love chicken parm and it’s one of cheat meals- and eating it sparingly makes it better each time.
This weekend I coached with Cape Cod Field Hockey Club again in Epping, New Hampshire. I absolutely love the u10s. They’re adorable and it’s exciting to me to introduce them to the sport. They also definitely keep me entertained on the sidelines with all of their anecdotes or their thoughts on the game. I give them a lot of credit- it was beyond hot this weekend and the turf adds at least ten degrees! I was dripping sweat just coaching!
Another stellar week of summer! I still feel like I always have things I need to be doing, cleaning, or working on. Although the summer is supposed to feel like more free time- sometimes it feels like I am running around without taking a breath. I plan on taking this holiday weekend to really relax, take a step back from work, and my media work. You should all do the same and take the time to soak up this gorgeous holiday weekend!
