Ditch Dry Skin- Tips for keeping your skin moisturized

When the air gets colder, skin gets drier. As we enter the winter, let’s maintain healthy, soft, and moisturized skin. I have compiled a mini guide to ditching dry skin this winter.

Stay Hydrated

One of the easiest ways to preserve healthy and hydrated skin is to hydrate yourself! Ideally, you should be drinking 8 glasses of water a day or 64 ounces of water. If you’re like me and struggle to drink a lot of water per day, try adding electrolytes to your water.

Proper Cleansing

The best beginning step to skin care is cleansing your skin. Start by consistently removing your makeup every night. Wash your face every morning and every night to ensure you remove any dead skin, leftover makeup, or any dirt. Some of my favorite face washes include The Kate Somerville Eradikate Daily Foaming Cleanser, Panoxyl Acne Foaming Wash, and the Elemis Cleansing Balm.

Ice Roll/ Cooling Masks

Another great way to avoid dry skin is to add ice rolling or cooling masks to your skincare routine. Ice rolling can reduce puffiness, sooth fatigue, and aid in lymphatic drainage which can lead to overall hydration benefits to your skin. If you aren’t into ice rolling, you could also try a cold face mask

 Moisturize Moisturize Moisturize

Of course- the best way to ditch dry skin is to consistently moisturize your skin as much as possible!! Using facial lotion multiple times a day will eliminate dry skin and hydrate your skin. My favorite moisturizers include Good Molecules Lightweight Daily Moisturizer, Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, and the Youth to The People Air-Whip Moisture Face cream.
