Day Trip to Martha’s Vineyard

As a lifelong Cape vacationer, I am ashamed to say that this past Sunday was my first time on one of the islands. I have read all about Nantucket and the Vineyard in Elin Hilderbrand’s novels and have lived vicariously through them. On Sunday, I was blessed to experience the beauty of Martha’s Vineyard while celebrating Holliday’s 22nd birthday!

Iced Coffee

We spent the day in Edgartown, where we shopped, ate, and of course drank iced coffee. The cute quaint town of Edgartown has a lovely selection of adorable coffee shops!

  • Behind the Bookstore

This cute little coffee shop was absolutely gorgeous, green, and lush. Located behind Edgartown books it felt like stepping into a fairy tale book. We didn’t end up getting coffee here because we planned on eating breakfast but missed their breakfast time. However, the vibes were immaculate so whimsical and like being in a fantasy novel.

  • Rosewater Market

Another adorable relaxing cafe that played the perfect dinner music. We sat here and it was so peaceful and delicious. Our table had an ideal view of the street and the light that was emitted made it an excellent place to read a book or complete work. I had avocado toast topped with fresh arugula and a vanilla cold brew with almond milk. Unreal!

  • Blackbird Cafe

It was a wicked hot and sunny day so throughout our shopping excursion we were all craving an iced cold drink. Caraline and Holliday got hibiscus iced tea with lemon and I had another amazing iced coffee with vanilla and oat milk. Most of the people walking around Edgartown had Blackbird Cafe cups.

Shopping

  • Sea Legs

This is the cutest little jewelry, accessory, and dress store located in a little hut near the water. They have a small charm bar where I created a nautical themed charm bracelet.

  • Claudia Jewelry

This jewelry shop has the most elegant and unique pieces of jewelry! On the higher end of prices their authentic pieces are worth every dime. Lots of stunning birthstone, pearl, and diamond pieces.

  • Edgartown Books

There is nothing better than a bookstore! This book store is two stories with the bottom floor being adult reads and the top floor being a combination of children’s books, classics, cook books, and poetry books. There are relaxing rocking chairs in the front where you can sit and read your new book surrounded by hydrangeas and people watch.

  • Slate

Another elegant clothing and accessory store. Lots of preppy and coastal picks here. I found a pair of lemon slice pearl earrings that I haven’t stopped thinking about!

  • Portobello Road

A book, accessory, and sign store that is perfectly curated and with vibes that make you want to stay and look through everything for hours. There’s an adorable selection of mini poetry books.

Dinner

We ate at The Atlantic and it was divine. Words cannot describe how amazing the waterfront experience was and how delicious the food tasted. We were seated with an oceanfront view at sunset, it could not have been more perfect. There were larger boats, mini boats, jet skis, and sailboats. I had the best lobster mac and cheese to date. It was an ideal amount with lots of lobster and covered in tasty breadcrumbs. There is a wide selection of seafood, meat, and specialty salads.

Martha’s Vineyard is a slice of paradise just a ferry ride away! I highly recommend taking a day trip, shopping, eating, and enjoying the beach! Nantucket is next on my list!

Xoxo,

Hannahlane
