Getting back into reading can be difficult if you have fallen off the wagon. It can be so hard to read throughout the year when you have other work, school, and school readings to do. All of these other tasks can take away from the enjoyment of leisure reading. The summer is the best time to crack open a new beachy read and rediscover your love for reading! Here are seven beachy reads that make reading enjoyable and are easy to get lost in!

This was the first Elin Hilderbrand book I ever read and it got me hooked on her Nantucket lifestyle books. Every book by her takes place on Nantucket or the Cape and features scandal, gossip, love, and family coated in a layer of salt water. This novel written in 2008, features a steamy and intense affair between two couples whose lives are intertwined on Nantucket. It is truly a page turner full of white wine, pearls, the beach, true love, and true scandal!
Emily Henry also has an amazing spread of books that I perfect to read while sprawled out on a towel in front of the ocean. This is another one that is so hard to put down and features a lovers to enemies to lovers plot. Taking place in Maine, Happy Place is full of lobster, coastal home vibes, secrets, and enemies to lovers’ lore.
Christina and Lauren are two authors who come together to create amazing books so seamlessly you wouldn’t even realize there are two different authors collaborating. This is another enthralling novel that features enemies to lovers stuck on vacation together in Hawaii plot. There are lots of mini plot twists throughout the book to keep you on your toes.
Michaelides is notorious for writing entertaining mysteries that keep the audience guessing until the final page. In addition to The Fury, Michaelides has written other psychological thrillers like The Silent Patient and The Maidens. The Fury, written this past January, is about a famous movie star who has surrendered her celebrity life and decides to take a trip with her closest friends and family on a Greek island. The night away ends in a shocking murder that unfolds in the most unexpected way possible.
I absolutely adore Reid as an author!! She has such a wide variety of books and even some written in different formats. Some characters overlap over time in different books even though the books are not a part of a series. This amazing read takes place in California and features the children of famous musician Mick Riva who has left his kids. As adults, they host a yearly party and while all keeping their own secrets the party ends in a disaster even worse than it was found. This surfside novel is full of betrayal, scandal, surfing, and rock star drama.
This was the perfect summer read full of travel, breaking love curses, family issues, and mental health issues. Jimenez crafts the perfect story about two people who are constantly unlucky in love because once they break up with someone that person goes on to meet the love of their life. This novel goes beyond the love story of serendipity, but even talks about familial relationships and dealing with internal demons.
Coho novels are the easiest way to get back into reading. They often feature love stories, drama, and a sense of predictability. These novels are easy to read and are quick to finish! Reminder of Him is an unreal read about redemption, mistakes, family, and finding unexpected love in the one person you cannot love. This is the perfect quick read for a flight or while tanning!

Getting back into the routine of regularly reading has improved my mental health significantly! There’s nothing better than opening a new crisp book, lining up some gel highlighters, sipping an iced coffee, while getting some vitamin D reading an amazing book!
Xoxo,
