Summer Sun Care Essentials

When the UV goes up, you don’t want to let your guard down against the sun. I know I definitely fall victim to the sun and occasionally letting my skin fry while I lay out. Burning can have long term effects on our skin and our health so it is essential to get a tan while protecting your skin!! Here’s your guide to what you need this summer in order to get a (safe) and luminous tan without damaging your skin.

Sunscreen & Moisturizers

It is obviously recommended that when spending time in the sun that you protect your skin and wear sunscreen and continue to reapply. There are so many different options that can benefit different skin types and different levels of susceptibility to burning. Moisturizing your skin after exposing it to the sun is just as important as applying sunscreen while you are in the sun! I’ve compiled a list of the best summer sunscreen and moisturizers.

Tanning Oils and Tanning Solutions

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could all just wake up with an effortless and even tan? Some people are lucky enough to be able to tan naturally with the help of oils and products (the ones listed all contain some SPF so they aren’t damaging) but others need the help of other products to achieve the summer glow. Don’t worry- options to provide both types of tan are listed below!!

Lip & Hair Care

We often forget about our lips and our hair when we go out into the sun because we are focused on our skin. Then we are rudely reminded when we have a scalding burn on our hairline or our lips get all chapped and burned. Let’s avoid that discomfort from the start and utilize SPF lip products and hair protective products!

Eyes & Accessories

Finally we cannot forget about protecting our eyes and looking cute while we do it!! I absolutely love a fabulous pair of sunglasses and at a great price because I always end up losing them, breaking them, or forgetting about them until I realize they were in my bag all along! Here is a range of affordable to more high end sunglasses and beach bags to hold all of your sun products (and a good beach read)!
