It’s getting colder which means more days in bed reading, catching up on emails, and binging shows. Once it starts getting colder, I love spending a lazy Sunday watching Youtube in bed while I clean and reset for the week. These are some shows I’ve watched and loved!
- Painkiller on Netflix
This six episode series on Netflix is addicting. (Bad pun). The historical fiction docu-series depicts the opioid epidemic as caused by the Sacklers in the 90s. Essentially, in order to save the family name and business Richard Sackler(portrayed by Matthew Broderick- I knew he was familiar.) creates a wicked addictive drug called oxycontin that was marketed as a safe pain reliever causing a wave of addiction across the United States. College students and pretty women would go to doctors and convince them to up the dosages to patients and the more they sold, the more they made. It is mind blowing that this actually happened and that everyone had just thought it was okay and went along with this lethal epidemic.
- Gilmore Girls
A classic fall show!! Gilmore Girls follows the lives of teen mom, Lorelai Gilmore, and her now teenage daughter, Rory. The sarcastic and real mother-daughter duo makes you fall in love with the show as you watch their work, life, and men struggles.

- Dance Moms
I am a reality TV STAN. I would’ve made this entire list reality television, but I thought it would be best to compile a list with some variety. Dance Moms can be watched on Hulu and essentially follows a competition dance team from Pennsylvania with crazy moms who are always fighting with an even crazier dance teacher.
- Big Brother
I had to include another reality show. Paramount + has every season of Big Brother available. A CBS reality TV show where 16 houseguests live in a house isolated from the outside world for a summer. Each week they compete for head of household, the power of veto, and vote to evict a member of the house out each week. A game of strategy, physical strength, mental strength, and social skills filled with drama.
- Sex and the City
This theme song is constantly playing in my head throughout the day. The show takes place in New York City with Carrie Bradshaw sprinting around the city in heels (not really, but seriously who can wear heels like that for so long). The cast talks about men and their glamorous lives in the city.
- That 70s Show
This is my comfort show!! You can watch Eric Forman and his friends go through the teenage struggles on Peacock. The show takes place in the 70s and makes lots of reference to pop culture and society at that time. Each character depicts a high school student “stereotype” from the 70s. Eric, the dorky kid who is obsessed with Star Wars, Donna is a feminist and strong female lead, Jackie is the rich cheerleader who dates Kelso the airheaded loverboy (who has many love interests throughout the show), Hyde the anti-society “against the system” rock and roll hippy, and Fez who is the foreign exchange student usually at the butt of everyone’s jokes. Although there isn’t much depth to the show, it is a nice background watch and a good laugh.

Xoxo,
